Siapa Roger Barnett??

Roger Barnett adalah seorang billionaire muda (49 tahun pada 2014), CEO dan juga Chairman kepada Shaklee Corporation. Selain itu, beliau juga pemilik beberapa syarikat besar seperti  Burberry, Beauty.com, Activated Holdings LLC dan banyak lagi. Mr Barnett menerima ijazah sarjana muda dari Yale College (Summa Cum Laude), ijazah undang-undang dari Yale Law School (Editor Kanan, Yale Law Journal), dan MBA dari Harvard Business School.

Mr Barnett telah dipilih sebagai “Global Leader for Tomorrow” oleh Forum Ekonomi Dunia (World Economic Forum) (Davos). Beliau juga telah dipilih sebagai Young Leader Fellow di Jawatankuasa Kebangsaan AS-China Perhubungan dan merupakan ahli Pertubuhan Presiden Muda(Young President’s Organization). Selain itu, Encik Barnett berkhidmat sebagai ahli di Harvard dan Yale Sekolah Kesihatan Awam Majlis Kepimpinan, Majlis Universiti Yale Presiden pada Aktiviti Antarabangsa, Lembaga Pengarah Yayasan Elie Wiesel for Humanity, Lembaga Penasihat 2004 Nobel Peace Laureate The Green Belt Movement Wangari Maathai, Lembaga Pengarah Pengarah Sekolah Bandar San Francisco, dan Lembaga Pemegang Amanah Seni Halus Muzium Yayasan San Francisco. Roger Barnett dan Shaklee

For years, the Barnett family lived like most Americans. Then, in 2004, they got an unexpected wake-up call that changed the way they clean their home and treat the environment.

Sloan and Roger say they began to notice their son Spencer’s health problems when he was just 3 years old. At first, Sloan says her son coughed continuously. One day his heart was racing, so she rushed him to the emergency room.

“I don’t think we knew whether we were going to lose him or not,” Roger says. “They told us that he had a respiratory issue. They thought he might be developing asthma.”

Sloan says she began researching chemicals that can irritate the lungs and found them in a startling location…inside her home. According to a physician, some household products—like bathroom cleaners, disinfectants, floor cleaners and oven cleaners—contain toxic chemicals that can trigger an asthma attack.

As soon as the Barnetts learned that cleaning products can be hazardous to their health, Sloan says they cleaned out their cabinets and made their home a place where everyone could breathe easier. (sumber)

Roger Barnett sendiri bermula dengan mencari penyelesaian untuk masalah kesihatan anaknya. Memang sekarang ni semakin ramai kanak-kanak mengalami ekzema dan asthma disebabkan banyak produk menggunakan toksin dan bahan kimia merbahaya. Kerana sukakan sangat produk Shaklee ini, Roger Barnett telah membeli Shaklee Corporation!

Katanya lagi, “I never want to sell this company.  One day, if he’s worthy, I’d like to pass this on to my son Spencer.” (sumber)
